Just as strong as it started, the Mortality Doctrine series goes out with a bang in The Game of Lives. I laughed, I cried, and laughed some more. The ending was just absolutely amazing, and I don't know how he could have possibly ended the series on a better note.

Bravo, James Dashner. Bravo.

it took me so long to finish this trilogy omg.
the third book was the best of them all but still a middling read.
the characters go throughout so much battles and hardship but i felt no empathy towards them, the writing style just describing what happened to them without one ounce of emotion.
because of that, they felt one dimensional, i didn’t get attached to them and it was HARD to finish the books.

I have been a pretty big fan of this series. The books have a been tech and coding related, but it was never about anything technical. Everyone is able to understand the content of these books.
I'm hearing a lot of dislike for this book, and yes, there were certain parts I didn't enjoy either. The book was a little slow at times, which made me loose my interest. The fact that
Spoiler Sarah died was something I was NOT okay with. Also, it seemed that Michael had a weird, slightly romantic relationship with Gabby. Her smile made him feel happy? Excuse me, but I don't think so. Do what you will, but I need them to be 120% platonic. I didn't enjoy the slight hint of a maybe romance.

However, overall I loved series. Would read more books, if more came out.
SpoilerThank you for ending it nicely. No cliffhanger, none of that "leave to your imagination" crap.

I loved this book, I know a lot of books are about virtual reality but I found this book really interesting to read. The whole series was great but the last book was my favourite . I thought all the characters were good and the plot was brilliant. The villains were really good as you didn't know who was worse or who was really evil, however, I thought the villains weren't that greatly explained as we didn't know much about them but that might of been on purpose to make them mysterious. Overall, it thought this was a great book and I would probably re-read it.

Rather disappointing ending; the “big reveal” that Helga had was super obvious; thought it was rather weird that Dashner name dropped a Flare(zombie from Maze Runner) at the end like that.

The ending of this book was more shocking to me than I thought it would be.

A very nice way to end the trilogy. I also liked how he throws in a bit of reference to the Maze Runner trilogy.
