The cover and title alone make this book intriguing. It was a quick read, with minimal drama. Jade King is a farmer. Not the regular kind. She "farms" reindeer (and I learnt quite a few things about reindeer) and obviously the Christmas season gets busy for her because she showcases her reindeer. Her sister helps with the marketing and hires the local town hero, Brandon Brown. He has recently returned home for family responsibilities and signs up to play Santa on Jade's farm. They share an instant attraction but Jade has a slew of problems from high school that make her weary and scared. Overshadowing their growing attraction is something sinister at play on the farm.

All in all it was a good book, with interesting characters and enough enticement to read Amber and Sean's story.

4.5 stars! (.5 star goes to the cute reindeer!)

I'd say this is one of those books with a misleading title and cover—in a good way. While it was generous with its steamy scenes, it turned out to be so much more. It involves love interests dealing with painful pasts that continue to haunt them at present. It contains heartwarming scenes that are sure to tug on readers' heartstrings. And, of course, in its core is a healing romance that was very enjoyable to read.

This played out like a Hallmark movie in my head (mostly thanks to the narration) and I loved it! Glad I chose to finish this book cuddled up in bed on a cold and rainy December afternoon. 🎄

Book Review: Studmuffin Santa
Author: Tawna Fenske
Four Stars
Running a Reindeer Ranch takes a lot of time and energy. But to keep someone from sabotaging all of their endeavours takes even more.
Jade and her sister, Amber, are trying to get things going and the first order of business is to have a Santa on hand to do pictures for the kids and to make things work with this Christmas season.
What Jade doesn't know is that there has been some suspicious activity on the Reindeer ranch and Amber is doing all she can to not let her sister stress any more than she already is. Hiring the Santa, Brandon a former Marine, is one part business sense and second part security. Brandon is trained in all things like security and having him around will hopefully help find who is trying to sabatoge thier business.
Jade and Brandon get off to a rocky start, having went to school together, they have a lot of memories that get in the way sometimes.
This book is pretty good. Nice light read with a mystery and a romance all together.

3 reindeer stars!

This was a quick, cute, funny, Christmas read.

I really love Tawna Fenske's sense of humour. Lines like this had me snickering and giggling through most of the story.

“That’s what they make fake beards for,” Amber says. “And strap-on bellies. I already ordered one for him.” I close my eyes and count to ten, but only make it to four. “Please tell me you read the product description instead of googling ‘Santa strap-on.’”

I really liked both MCs. Jade is a veterinarian and reindeer farmer. To entice the locals to visit their Christmas-themed farm, her sister decides to hire Brandon, local hottie and secret crush of Jade's back in highschool, as their Santa Claus.

A fun Christmas read if you're in the mood for something easy and fun, with a bit of suspense thrown in.

I got this as a Kindle freebie and surprisingly, this wasn't half as stupid as the title & cover suggested!

The book is fun. Some of the plot points are a bit meh, but it's a great Christmas read. Storyline of hero with his dad was really well done. Showed a maturing of personal responsibility. Romance was so-so. I would have loved to see more friendship between the women.
