This book was such a pleasant surprise. This was my first Karin Slaughter and I can confidently say that she has a potential to become a favorite. Even though this thriller has many tropes and elements that I usually don't enjoy, somehow this amazing woman made it work and I loved False Witness so much. I loved the topic and how the author wasn't shying away from the terrible details and all the ugliness. I even almost cried which is not a feeling I usually get when reading thrillers.

The audiobook is a bit confusing to follow so I'll just read this another time.

3.5, would have given 4 but the whole covid-19 aspect of the novel was annoying. I already feel annoyed, tired of the way the world has become. I read books to escape. If this had been written well after the whole virus situation is resolved, a few years after, I could have just been grateful that we were no longer living in that world, as it is I felt like the author was on a bit of a 'soapbox', preaching, etc. Everyone has the right to question, and make their own decisions.
