I don't love waiting for the next book so I waited to read this until I had the next one.
It took some doing but here we are, crying because it's coming to the end. I don't know what will I do with out my biker men.

Novella's should have their own rating system! This is what I would consider a prologue leading into the next Chaos book. I'm glad it is a straight forward read without much upheaval in the main relationship, but it's totally all a set up for the next group. I honestly hope that there aren't too many more Chaos books and that the last one will end up being a 1200 page story that closes it all up! I can't take the excitement when there such a huge set up involving so many other people. One character arc can be stressful enough; with Chaos there are multiple arcs happening all the time. It'll do my head it.

I was a little unsure if I wanted to read this one since I wasn't the biggest Rosalie fan. I actually ended up really liking her but I wish this book was longer. I love how KA writes bad ass bikers that have a sweet side - and that's exactly how I would describe Snapper. I can't wait for the next chaos book!

Rough Ride is Rosalie and Snappers story.

We first met Rosalie in "Own the Wind". She was Shy's girlfriend for a short time. But she knew he wasn’t the one for her.

Rosalie grew up in the biker world. Her father loved to ride. He was free and she and her mom shared his journey.

Rosalie's father never joined a motorcycle club, because his love and devotion to his wife and daughter was above all else. The brotherhood came last.

I loved, loved, loved the man Rosalie's father was. Her parents were amazing!!

Rosalie is a great character. She is strong, loyal, fierce, knows her mind and worth.

She knew what Beck, her boyfriend did was wrong, she wanted to build a life with him and did what she could to make that so.

That path let her to be beaten on the side of the road.

Snapper came to her aid as Rosalie was working for the club as an informer.
But Chaos fell in their duty to protect her.

After what she went through, Rosalie was shy of starting a new relationship. Even if that relationship was with Snapper, who was the ideal man for her. The man who she fell in love with even while being with Beck.

For Snapper, it was the same. He fell in love with Rosalie knowing she had a man. But his feeling were his own. He stood by Rosalie and when she got hurt because of the club, he went for retribution.

Despite everything Rosalie went through , she was strong , both mentally and physically.

She knew scars fade and that the true beauty is within. Beck and his club members didn’t take anything from her, they hurt her physically, but she recovered and came stayed as true and strong as before.

Rosalie knew her future want with Shy. She sought it with Beck, but knew that true happiness was only with Snapper.

She was reluctant to peruse a relationship with him because she thought that made her weak. But Snapper made her see she was just searching for the right person to spend her life with. And with him, she finally found it: the steadiness, loyalty, love, support, her true HEA.

Loved seeing how mature they both were in dealing with the situation!!

As a couple, they were low key. They liked being together more than anything!!

You will love Rosalie and Snapper!!

Rough Ride is Chaos in a wonderfully gritty bite-sized serving. With a heroine so reminiscent of Sadie (Rock Chick Regret) and a fight so deeply ingrained within her, it was within the first page that I felt the draw to echoing her pain, her heartbreak, and her final straw bending. Although it is a short story, and the jump into their courtship falls at the halfway point, it does nothing to lessen or diminish the impact of a soul-deep claiming these two are circling around from the get-go.

Having seen Rosie play a few minor parts in prior Chaos novels, I adored getting to finally find her true story among the club and its men. She wasn’t fully formed prior, but it truly didn’t matter. The overall sense of who she is was gleaned back then and expounded upon efficiently and quickly in this fast-paced and incredibly touching love story. The sheer force of connection between Snapper and Rosie was vivid and palpable; his effect on her transferred to me, twisting my chest into knots and filling my belly with butterflies as he allowed his presence and the club’s presence to speak his words for him. And it was beautiful how it translated on to the page and in healing their broken divide.

And though every great story is never long enough, as is the case with Rough Ride, I cannot help but always marvel at how easily Ashley can engross a reader into characters and an entire series’ world in such a short amount of time, an instant, really–novella or not. Ashley’s storytelling powers are magnetic and they pull on you until your gut and your heart and your chest trill with instinctual responses. The direction this series is headed, informed by this story and the preview at the end of it, is going to allow this author to display what she is amazing at: visceral reactions and one hell of a juicily twisty story. This story was a necessary stepping stone, a piece to complete the pathway, to so much more, and I am equally nervous and thrilled to see what Ashley has under her powerful sleeves next for Chaos.

**Received an early copy; this had no bearing on my opinions**

“Life, is not about goin’ it alone. It’s about finding the right people to share it with who will make it better when it’s good and be there to hold you steady when it’s not.”

I read Own the Wind by Kristen Ashley when it first released years ago and fell in love with Shy and the Chaos family. Shy is my first love, but after reading Rough Ride, I have mad love for Snapper! I don't read a lot of MC books, but I love Chaos. Kristen writes these characters with heart, depth, passion and values. They love their club. They love their women. Snapper and Rosie have a history. He's had a thing for her since he saw her with Shy years ago. But the time was never right. Then he was working with her against Bounty. Long phone calls learning about each other. Nothing physical. Then she was taken down by her ex and left bloody and beaten. Snapper vows to protect her at all costs and then he's making his move. Finally claiming his woman. Rosie is not as ready as Snapper. She's afraid. She doesn’t want Snapper to think he's a rebound because he's not. He's everything. Can she look past the scars in the mirror and trust Snapper with her heart? Will Snapper give her the words she needs to see his love is real? Oh man. I loved this story! Snapper is everything. From his sexy good looks, his soft spoken words, his domineering way and oh, the hair. I love the hair. He's honest, gorgeous, forceful and sexy (it needed to be mentioned twice). I loved the way he talked to her. Telling her she's his woman. Telling her how it's going to be. And when he called her honey…I melted. Every time! Rosie is stronger than she thinks. She may be bent, but she's not broken. She just had to let it all sink in to see that Snapper is it for her. I loved watching their story unfold. It was a beautiful rough ride that left me smiling and wanting more!

I'm the man who's gonna do you right, Rosalie. With me, that rough ride is gonna end, baby.

"Life, Rosie, is not about goin' at it alone. It's about finding the right people to share it with who will make it better when it's good and be there to hold you steady when it's not."

"Not you're bein' cute and I still wanna fuck you."
"I have syphilis," I lied.
He started laughing.
"And I used to be a man," I went on."
"He started laughing harder.
"A gay man, so we're good," I told him
He laughed even harder.
