Powerful and beautifully written memoir. Each section could be read independently, but together tells so much about living in America, with its foundational history of violence. It is about gun violence, but also the violence and injustice that touches those who are already the most vulnerable and powerless in America, women, children, the poor, and anyone labeled “other.”

Unsurprisingly, a memoir about gun violence written by an indigenous author is pretty heavy, but the essay-style writing is beautiful and powerful

Overall, really enjoyed this. Heavy subject matter -- a lot of gun violence, abuse and trauma in these pages. At times, overwritten and circuitous.
