I adored this book! I would describe it as spooky/dark/spicy/kinky/clever.
I loved these characters and was impressed with the well developed plot and how well it jived with the *extremely* spicy scenes peppered in throughout the story.
I reread this book immediately after finishing because I wasn't ready to move on from Rae and Leon's story.
Definitely check trigger warnings before reading this brand of spice. This is not for all readers.
The only critiques I have of this book are technical errors in spelling/logistics that were relatively few and far between.

read for dark romance readathon 2022: trigger warning
i had so much fun with this and the smut was phenomenal but as a demon i feel like leon would have been more hesitant to "love" a human

I wasn’t super impressed by this read. The pacing was a bit too slow for me for about 80% of the book, and I was a bit underwhelmed by the relationship between Rae and Leon. I was honestly expecting something with a bit more bite, but I didn’t really feel connected to their relationship and how their dynamic worked as a whole when tied into the plot. I think the idea behind the book is really interesting, but I don’t think it was executed as well as it could have. I was close to DNFing this one, but the pacing started to pick up a bit towards the second half/end of the book. I’m looking forward to seeing what the second book in this series has in store.

Well, I'm so damn glad I discovered this new-to-me trope in the romance world a few months ago that involves monsters, demons, kinky AF sexy times, dark undertones, and twisted, addictive AF plots. Because that was everything this book was.
Holy mother effing HOTNESS. Leon, that dirty-talking, sexy mofo had me cracking up. His sarcasm mixed with his nonsense view of humanity was both endearing and yea, humbling. Poor guy went through some stuff and he still managed to have a sense of humor and a...gasp...heart. Raelynn was an awesome FMC. She was fierce, sassy, and inquisitive. Loved how she was clumsy and how she embraced her sexual desires. I'm really, REALLY glad she embraced her sexual desires, cuz dayyyyyummmm those scenes.
