Quite a fun introduction. I look forward to reading this as it comes out.

Simone is a great writer and Davila is a fantastic artist together they have assembled the beginning of a very different crossover event. Absolutely fierce and feminist. Sci-fi, fantasy, pulp, mystery, and all the speculative genres collide in this comic book. Given the lack of continuity within the Dynamite universe I wasn't too sure of how these worlds could overlap but it's working.

Briefly put, Swords of Sorrow is a confusing mess of plotlines, characters, and oversexualized artwork. I really wanted to like it because Gail Simone is a legend, and I received it as a freebie from ComiqueCon in October, but alas I did not. Maybe I would get payoff if I followed this series through to the end, but I don't plan on it.
