I really didn't care for the Hero even if I knew he was an ass going into it. He had NO doubts!! None!! Ugh!! His grovel wasn't nearly enough. And while she stood up for herself, it wasn't fast enough for me.

Really enjoyed this book. Quick read, only took a few hours, but the amount of emotion packed into those few hours was great. Loved Kelly and her strength and determination. I identified with her pride, fears, and longings. I really wanted to kick Ryan in the balls on a few occasions but he was a totally redeemable character and in the end someone who I believed was worthy of Kelly. Some great sideline characters that I know will make wonderful additions to the series. Emotional read for something smaller than I'm used to with a Maya Banks but worth it.

DNF@ Chapter 9
God was this boring. Kelly was so headstrong at the beginning and I loved it. But then as the story went she started bending to Ryan's will even when he was still being an asshole. How come he couldn't see such an obvious ploy? Even without this forced separation, their relationship seemed so boring: older guy meets (really) young girl, instantly fall in love, move together after 2 months... just so meh! Bland...

Good book. I was happy to see this group again, and be there for Rafe and Bryony's wedding. I thought it was pretty interesting that despite what he thought Kelly had done, Ryan was unable to forget her and worried about her. When he found her, he was shocked at her condition and just had to take care of her. Kelly didn't want to go with him, but felt she had to for the baby's sake. They tried to go on together without confronting the past, but it kept coming up. Kelly was still hurt and furious that Ryan took his brother's word over hers. When the crisis came at the end, I was glad to see that Ryan finally saw the light, but it took almost losing her for it to happen. I loved seeing the confrontation between Ryan and his brother and mother. I can't wait for the next books.
