This has got to be one of the coolest graphic novels I have ever read! The art style matched perfectly with the Peculiar's story. It was deliberately sketched roughly, with imperfect lines and colourings in. You just need to see one page to understand:

I would have been disappointed if it were in full colour like a normal comic, because it just wouldn't suit the story. And all the characters were depicted just as I imagined them, especially Emma. The story was adapted wonderfully, and every aspect of it was captured with expertise. I almost want to start over and reread it again, or perhaps finally bite the bullet and read The Conference of the Birds.

Is it my favorite graphic novel series? Not by a long shot.
Is it an interesting graphic novel series. Certainly. Story is certainly engaging enough. Definitely interested in the third one whenever that's released.

Here’s the dealio - this graphic novel is pretty good if you’ve already read the books. It’s fun seeing the characters drawn out like this and moving once you’ve already developed an appreciation for them in their written form. Without the book I feel that you miss so much of the good details, character development and story building. Just like when a book is adapted to a movie - a book adapted to a graphic novel is a fun way to add a visual element to the story but the audience often misses so much that’s below the surface, and therefore cannot fully enjoy it without the foundation of the original novel.

Wow, this was so much better than the normal book. Maybe because it condensed all the boring parts and just went with the exciting parts but still keeping the story intact! It was definitely a blessing to read this book, I hope that the illustrator will also make a book 3 graphic novel, as I couldn't even finish that book, and I am hoping that thanks to a graphic novel I may just finish it.
The art was really fabulous, even though it took me a long time to figure out that the badly drawn figure that kept popping up wasn't the illustrator being lazy, but just our invisible boy. :P

Loved it! Just as wonderful to read as the first one. I already loved the original series, definitely one of my top 10 series! So happy to have been able to read the graphic novel versions as well. I cannot wait until the release of the 3rd as a graphic novel as well! This one was definitely worth my time!
