I cannot explain to any one my lifelong hatred for Jemima Puddleduck and my undying allegiance to Tom Kitten. It has no basis. It just is.

One of the first books I remember owning, and one I loved to death because it had a beautiful blue hardcover, as opposed to the glossy Disney print nearly everything else I owned was.

I must admit that I absolutely didn't grow up knowing the work of Beatrix Potter. Later, I had heard about it, but still without really caring about it. It wasn't until a few months ago that I started to really take a look at it. And for my birthday I received the complete work (in French).
And what can I say? I fell in love. Of her talent. Whether for writing, but also for her drawings. I really regret not having known younger. And at the same time, I tell myself that maybe I wouldn't have appreciated the work that much.
I recommend these works for young and old. Don't hesitate, it's just art, I'm absolutely fan.

What a nostalgic and fun read this was. I read Beatrix Potter’s stories as a child and reading them again now was a delight. I adore her illustrations and appreciated the humor I missed when I was young.

sound effects over sound effects. sound effects muffling the narration, and muffling narration when through a wall, etc. the fun factor of the effects get real old real fast with all the problems they cause. and also the decision to have eighteen seconds of intro and outro music when the stories are so short as well.... if it weren't already irritating it would start to be pretty soon.

Lovely little stories to read aloud. We used these to discuss story structure and writing style.
