Oh my gosh, I LOVED Devon and Collin together! Jessica Prince writes romantic comedy PERFECTLY- just read the dog scene excerpt and you'll see what I mean. The chemistry between them is hot- and since you get to see both POVs, you are pulling for them to get it together and JUST GET TOGETHER! Prince's writing is so smart, so witty, and just.... completely perfect- way more than almost! This book can be read as a standalone, but after a taste of the Locklaine boys you'll want to go back and read Fire and Ice and Opposites Attract.

Funny but also at times heartbreaking story. You know when someone is a joker, always full of confidence and can take it on the chin, Poor Devon, she had a tough shield and a sweet heart.
Fantastic group of friends, really good story.

Characters?
Liked them. Loved that Devon had sass, liked her as an independent woman.
Didn't like that he was, what, 33? And yet, the way they both were thinking... I don't know. It wasn't really an adult romance but more of a new adult one. You know, like in their 20s or something. But ok. Guess you can overlook that.
Other than that, the two MCs had chemistry. I liked them as a couple.

Plot?
Definitely a lot going on. I found the novel a bit short but that might be because I've just read one historical romance after the other and that's just different. Still, some more pages would have been nice. It just seemed a bit rushed.
Loved that we get a glimpse at their future, though.

Writing Style?
Good. Not that many mistakes.

Critique?
Didn't like the last scene that much. It's all like: Women are there dancing and the men are outside doing manly stuff. Wth. Traditional worldview and everything. But yeah, guess that's not something everyone would criticize.

Loved this wrap up

This book wraps up the series with these great characters...at least for this generation. Given that the next book is about Ethan and Eliza I'm hopeful that all the kids named in the epilogue here are all going to get their own stories at some point.

Once again the author does a great job fleshing out the character of Devon and Collin who were introduced earlier. Devon is a hoot and there are quite a few laugh out loud moments. But she is also endearingly insecure and human and at points in the story your heart wrenches for her. The trajectory of Collin's recovery from his bad breakup to being open to love again is well plotted. Once again we are rooting for these people hat I'm sure most readers would love to have as friends.

Great series and I look forward to more books by this author.
