  • The amount of detail that’s put into the dessert lore and worldbuilding is honestly so impressive
  • Plus Germa66 and Big Mom seem like well written villains so far, so this arc seems v promising
  • And also the Devil fruit powers in this are v creative and I like that it’s giving lesser seen characters (Chopper and Nami) more individual screentime

We learn a lot about the antagonists of this arc in this volume. Big Mama has a terrifying side and Sanji's family is outwardly hostile and awful. I'm excited to learn more but also very apprehensive since it's clear from what we've seen so far that his childhood was an unhappy one. Whole Cake Island is a fascinating island and we've only seen bits and pieces of it so far. The pacing in this arc has been great and I cannot wait to read more of it.

Volume 83 covers chapters 828 to 838. Whole Cake Island, here we come. Luffy and the Straw Hats finally make it into the territory of the Emperors of the Sea, and it ain't no cakewalk. Meanwhile, Sanji is reunited with his family in their attempt to unite the Charlotte family with the power of Germa 66. Will Luffy be able to save Sanji, or will he succumb to her Sweet 3 generals? So many plot points are revealed that were set up hundreds of chapters ago, while many more pieces are set up for the final saga.
