I mentioned it in a note, but I appreciated that this book had a fully different approach to bringing the two main characters together. I found it incredibly difficult to see how either of them could forgive the other for the torture and pain.

I think this book might have to be my new example of what an enemies to lovers book is. Miriam doesn’t simply stop hating War and the things he does, she struggles with her interest and fights caring for him every step of the way. They each make huge changes and sacrifices to make being together work. There is nothing easy about it and the gradual fall is so much more realistic than many stories I’ve read.

Throughly enjoyable with bits of horror, romance, humor and reality mixed in. This book really allows you to look at the human condition from multiple perspectives and see where we are going terribly wrong and some of the things we are doing right.

"The day starts off like most others. With a nightmare."

I loved that it was set in the middle east and the representation of it. Usually when you have a movie or a book set in a dystopia world it is mostly set in USA or close to it. Such was Pestilence which was set in Canada and the us so this book was a pleasant surprise. I hope the third and fourth book are set in different parts of the world.

The premise of the book became so tiring since it was basically the same book as the first one. That makes me almost not want to continue the series but I really want to read deaths book so I have to continue.

More of a dystopia fantasy with a hint of romance. Or there is romance but I don't care at all for the characters or their love. Still easy to read.

Very much the same as the first one but I still enjoyed it.
I do hope the third and fourth book take on a different path.
