This was entirely too long! I really hate to DNF books, so I pressed on. I don’t mind dark books, and love mafia (although this was mafia-ish). But I was really struggling for most of the book to find SOMETHING that I liked about Danny. Or really even Rose. Yes, by the end they had redeemed themselves but most of the book they were both just assholes.

Oh My God. The first two chapters of this book completely wrecked me. And it was from those two chapters that I knew, I will be loving this book and will carry it like a baby.

Danny, the British boy, the one who doesn't believe in giving second chances, gave a second chance to someone just because he found the FMC, aka Rose very intriguing. Rose, the strong willed woman, who does everything even sell her own body, just so she can save her baby boy's life, the same baby whom she gave a birth to and the same baby who was stolen from her at his birth by the sane captors who own her, that us a mother's sacrifice, the one that oy a mom can make.

The back and forth of resistance between Danny and Rose was amazing. The banter, the quick-witted replies, the push and pull of their body's mind (their bodies seeking for each other one moment, but pulling away the next moment) was what enraptured me.

I have to say that Danny is definitely an anti-hero who is ruthless and violent to a very DARK extent.

The thing is that this book, made me fall in love with the idea of 'true love' once again. The way Danny falls for Rose slowly and the way she fell in love with her captor was written so beautifully.

I love giving myself pain

"I didn’t earn the name Angel-faced Assassin because I give good f*cking hugs. And if they don’t know that, they’ve got no idea what’s coming."

I really have no idea where to start with my review, this book will definitely stick with me mainly due to Danny. From the moment we meet Danny I absolutely loved him and he would never do anything wrong in my mind. I loved his hunger for revenge, and never giving any second chances. The tension between our main characters was so good. The twists and turns added a bit of suspense. I really enjoyed this read.

“I think you’re crazy,” she whispers. “I think you’re mine.” “I think you’re a murderer.” “I think you’re mine.” “I think you’re depraved.” I take her nape and apply pressure, and she inhales sharply. “I think you’re mine,”

"No one has ever protected me before. I don’t want to like it. Liking something makes it more painful when you no longer have it, and protection isn’t something I can keep."

This had some very dark moments but surprised to say I really enjoyed this book!

Towards the end I was a bit over the will they won’t they but the main and side characters felt really flushed out and I cared about each of their stories!
