This was absolutely beautiful and if I could I would read it for the first time again.
I thought of "Spirited Away" a lot during this book, even had "Howl's Moving Castle" in mind sometimes and yet can't really explain exactly when that was the case. But it doesn't matter because it doesn't change the beauty of this story.
Stories like these make me so invested in myths, other worlds and creatures and - even if it makes me look stupid - somehow believing in them.

It went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars but the plot twists and the end that gave me chill all throughout the last chapter makes it a solid 4.

this was a reeeeally soft read. i love it!
after reading such a "depressing" duology like tvd, i needed a cute book to raise my spirits and this one totally did the trick.

personally i felt like i was transmigrated into the spitired away universe. everything was so dreamy: from the characters, their backstories, the scenes and the landscapes. i adored the special friendships that every female characters had with each other and that's not something to be taken for granted in a ya fantasy book.

will recommed this to everyone who is searching for a light read similar to an asian fairy tale!!!! <3

This book has the same energy as a Studio Ghibli movie - there’s so much beauty woven into the story. The plot was well established, to the point i was able to suspect the ending but not quite - meaning it was well set up, but not predictable. Just a beautiful story
