First Thought when Finished: The Uninvited ended on a really strong note and made me hope that there are more Krewe books in the future!

What I thought of the Case: The Uninvited served up one of the strongest cases in the Krewe series. I really loved the mixture of a historical case with a current case. I didn't even get close to guessing who was involved in the murders happening in modern times. The Uninvited takes place in the historic Tarleton house in Philadelphia. I couldn't find that this was an actual house but the amount of detail made the house real to me. That is one of my favorite things about Heather Graham's writing, she just draws me a perfect picture of the places involved in her stories. The case was well paced, thrilling, and had an explosive ending.

What I thought of the Characters. The Uninvited was about Agent Tyler Montague and Allison Leigh. I love Tyler, he is one of my favorite Krewe members but I had a problem with Allison till about the 2/3rds spot. I love that she was a historian and very serious about it. However, she was a little to judgmental (of the Krewe), mean (to Tyler), and snippy (to just about everyone) for me. I wanted to like her but it took a very long time! The last 1/3 of the The Uninvited was a fantastic reversal in fortune where Allison was concerned. It was when she really began to grow on me! Did not take long after that before I really wanted Tyler and Allison to be together. The romance ended on a very strong note.

What I thought of the Audio: Narrated by the brilliant Luke Daniels at a running time of 8 hrs and 54 mins this was another great entry to the series. While I had a bit of a problem with a few of the voices, Luke is still probably the single most dependable narrator I can think of in the audiobook world.

Final Thought: The Uninvited is that last in this set of Krewe of Hunter books. I really hope there ends up being more.

Great series. I like the paranormal aspect involved in solving the murder mystery. Looking forward to the next tale.

I liked it, but it didn't seem to have much of a mystery to it, and it leaves you wondering about the Beast.

Another lovely Krewe novel. I adore this series; it's become a comfort read for me. I really liked the tension and buildup with the romance between Allison and Tyler. Luke Daniels is a great narrator for this series, too. He does so well with alllll the accents and voices. Bonus points to this book for being set in my home state of PA and including some revolutionary war themes/plot!

I think I like the original Krewe best but I have come to enjoy the Texas characters too.

This is the third Heather Graham book I've read in as many months, but despite some trends (and who doesn't want some trends in a series?) it was still a fun read. This one has a little more emphasis on the ghostly characters than the other two that I've read, which was a nice change. I liked the historical setting; as with the previous novels I've read, it's clear that Graham has done her research and didn't just pick a random historical house to write about. I figured out some of the twists early on, and the bad guy reveal felt a little rushed, but overall this was a good addition to the series. Sometimes the protagonist seemed a little hysterical compared to other Graham leading ladies, but she firmed up during the story and stopped annoying me so much. I'd like to think that I would react favorably to finding out that ghosts are real and can talk to us if they want to, so maybe I'm just projecting. Graham comes up with clever methods to dispatch characters, and this book does not disappoint. This book carries over some of the Krewe we've met in previous books, but doesn't connect to the previous two (no mummies in an American historial mansion!), but all the familiar elements of a Graham novel are there, so fans won't be disappointed.

Received as a digital ARC via Netgalley.

The Uninvited is book 8 in the Krewe of Hunters series by Heather Graham. Like most of her novels in this series, the book is set is an old house that holds historical significance in American struggle for independence.

Allison Leigh is a professor and history enthusiast, she works part-time giving tours at the Landon Mansion where it is believed that Revolutionary hero Lucy Tarleton died at the hands of British Lord "Butcher" Bedford. At the end of one of her shifts Allison finds the body of her colleague impaled on his own replica bayonet.

Agent Tyler Montague is sent in to start the investigation, as there is a belief the Krewe of Hunters will be need to solve this crime.

3 stars, this books was entertaining but a little to predictable. I enjoyed most of the characters especially Julian.

The liberties taken with history I’m okay with. The liberties taken with the description of Old City Philadelphia I am NOT.
