I didn’t love this, but I didn’t hate it. It was just a typical murder mystery. There were a lot of flashbacks which kind of drug the story out. The writing style was okay. I liked the use of poems throughout

One of the few times I didn't immediately guess the killer and I did enjoy that twist at the end. Love the atmospheric setting. Perfect for a fall spooky read. Slightly too repetitive but still enjoyable. Was my first Alice Feeney book. Won't be my last.

This is my second Alice Feeney book and I think it will be my last. I’m fully aware anything contemporary is building on what came before. But this felt less like an ode to Agatha Christie and more like a rip-off with less likable characters. The *BIG TWIST* on page 442 (large print edition) was flabbergasting and frustrating. Also, I guessed who the perpetrator was on page 241.

A cozy mystery with a little 6th Sense and Agatha Christie.

I really liked the other Alice Feeney books I have read. This one, not so much.

I enjoyed Daisy Darker much more than Alice Feeney's last few books, but I figured out the twist very early on. That took a lot of the suspense out of the narrative. I also found some the characters almost cartoonishly evil. Several of them just didn't behave like real humans. But I liked the setting and there is a very good sheepdog in this book. So, a big plus.
