I enjoyed this trilogy, although the fantasy element is nearly nonexistent. I don’t think I’ll be reading the novellas. That’s me done with Fonda Lee for the time being.

The way Lee approached wrapping up the series was kind-of fascinating. To cover such a sprawling, ever growing world of events over time by keeping the reader posted on lynchpin narrative beats like this is honestly ingenious, although it can be a little herky-jerky to digest. Overall this was a fantastic series.

This is some of the best writing I have ever, and will ever, read.

I cannot recommend this series enough.
Godsdamn I don't want this ride to be over.

Wow. What an incredible, heart-wrenching and poignant ending to a fantastic trilogy. I'm continuously floored at the expert way Fonda Lee weaves aspects of this story together - the last two pages a prime example of such.
I did find the fast-forwards to be a bit confusing at times since a significant amount of time was covered all in this one book, but by no means was it impossible to follow.
