I really liked Isadora. I felt she was really relatable to me. She is an introverted person who knows her own mind and what she likes.
Devraj was definitely sexy and grew on me over time, but I'm just not into playboys and flirty guys in general.
I didn't like the angst and lack of communication that held things up by the last third of the book.
I do like how this has a lot of consent between the two lovers and the spicy scenes were hot and sweet at the same time.

isadora is just such a relatable fmc. i felt so seen with her and loved being inside her head. devraj is SO FCKING HOT, like bro… 🥵🤭😮💨 love love love him. and he was also just really sweet, kinda cocky, and just all around an amazing mmc.
this was just a fun time - i love how it’s a romance plot but we also get a slightly suspenseful subplot going on in each book. it just makes even more enjoyable!! (also there is super hot sex too.. in case you were wondering 😏🤭)

But the plot itself, the blood trafficking ring popping up right under Ruben's nose, yikes!! We all know Reuben was pissed about that, and I can't wait for everything between him and Jules to come to a head (that books is going to be such a satisfying resolution to an epic slow burn romance). I wish the resolution of all that hadn't been just the last 10% of the book though. I would've liked to see a bit more breathing room at the very end for more relationship building, but I also recognize it was probably the same in the first book as well, but I was so engrossed in the story that I barely paid attention to those numbers? I think I had a few more interruptions in my reading time that put more awareness into that timing than usual.
I loved how much Isadora and Devraj kept telling themselves "oh, they couldn't possibly feel the same way about me" through the whole book. Opposites attract is a beloved trope for a reason, and these two were a perfect pair once they stopped getting in their own ways! I loved getting snippets of Devraj's past and nods to his Indian/ Hindu upbringing and the fun Bollywood references. Seeing Isadora slowly climb out of the shell she built for herself and grow in her own confidence was empowering to read. We've all gone through some level of that at some point and seeing the supportive community she has for herself help her realize that was so satisfying to read.
Already downloaded the next book, and can't wait to see how the always lovely, fantastically witchy Savoie sisters keep meeting their adorable matches in their supernatural New Orleans community!
