I usually try not to judge books by their cover. I had to though, as the libraries copy did not have a summary. Instead I just said "looks interesting." and I checked it out. That decision was one of the best I've made in a while.
This book is about Ian, a 9th grade boy who lives in a small town. His father is the principal of his school, yet he abuses his son at home. Everyone starts to worry when Teddy, Ian's fried, goes missing. The last time he was seen was at school, and all that Ian can remember after that is a fog.
This book was intense. It really made you think. Even though some scenes could be slightly confusing, it was still very well written with deeply developed characters. Even though it was written in first person, the author did a great job at deciphering the outside world as well as his own problems.
