Astounding. Soul-touching. Deep. And astounding writing. I could spend a year in it just highlighting. It's one of my favorite films of all time and it's a good representation of the book... I'm that much more impressed with Linda Blair and her acting because she totally nailed it. But the book has so much depth for all the characters, especially the homicide detective. I spent so much time being terrified by the story that I couldn't see the details of the glorious storytelling. This ranks up with Ethan Frome IMHO for perfect novels.

"Mother, what's wrong with me?"

What a harrowing and somehow heartwarming masterpiece. Truly deserves all the praise it receives. This was one of my favorite reading experiences I've ever had.

That was quite a lot to take in. I think this book was quite well written for such dark and disgusting topic. I liked the way the plot moved as well, and couldn't put it down all day.

In the SEVENTIES?
Father Karras is a tortured marshmallow and must be protected at all costs.

It doesn't matter how many times you've seen the film, the books is infinitely more unsettling.

I loved it so much. Damien Karras might be one of my favorite characters ever. This is a book where I saw the movie first and after reading the book I’m even more impressed by how well they captured the book in the movie. This is definitely one of my top 5 favorite books this year and probably of all time. I felt so emotional when i finished.
