4.5 - 5 / you have GOT to be kidding me!!! i loved this so much!!!!

there was an interview kahn did recently with The Creative Independent, where she talked abt poetry existing on the margins of art or the literary world or something like that and after reading this, i think she's right. so many of the poems in here became my favorite poems in the world and i will revisit them. i learned so many new words, so many different ways to use words. this was/is pure experimentation.

my favs:

I had a lot of trouble connecting with these, but enjoyed the poet’s unique approach to language. Although I appreciate her commitment to a flowing, brazen, almost humorous style, the title poem and last poem were the most grounded in reality, and thus most moving to me.

Short. Abstract. Brutal. Beautiful.

There are some stunners here, especially the title poem, but the book was not as tight and cohesive as it could be.
