I bought this book because I'd listened to "Make Your Bed" a few years ago and knew William McRaven was an excellent storyteller. "Sea Stories" takes that to a whole new level. Part memoir, part memorial to his fellow sailors, soldiers, airmen, and Marines, this book takes you from McRaven's life as a child growing up under an Air Force father to his absolutely emotional retirement after a 37-year-career in the U.S. Navy. Intense, heart-pounding, and emotional, I really can't recommend this book enough!

I found this refreshing in a world soured by Trump and his ilk.

I loved parts of this book and some of it was a slog fest! The earlier stories were quite entertaining and held my attention. I noticed that when he started to tell the stories from a command point of view they got a little wordy and harder to keep my attention.
