An awesome book. Though I really did pity Amelie later on. I love how it was all put together and everything fell into place. I now know how to get out of a silver cage with a headband and shoelaces.^-^ Claire rocks! Right now I really want to slap Shane grr. I want more moments with myrnin I think Claire would go great with him. Though also Oliver shouldn't have had to go:<. I loved the ending. Claires going M.I.T YAY!

I love this series. As always can't wait for the next book!!
I really like how each character now has been given a point of view in her last few books. It just adds to the fun.

“It's not your enemies who are likeliest to hurt you. It is, always, those you trust.”

Okay, so I'm pretty happy that I'm almost freaking down with this series and that's about it.

Bitter Blood has an interesting name so I thought it was going to be a pretty interesting book that would be utterly amazing - it wasn't. I feel like I'm the only one who didn't really like this book because I just really truly didn't. Like, at all because I hated it. Every. Goddamn. Page. All of the characters, and yes all, annoyed me in one way or another. I don't understand how so many people raved about this book - DID WE READ THE SAME THING?!? I'm so confused.

Other than that: Claire is still annoying. Shane is still annoying. Michael still broods about being a vampire - he seriously needs to just get over it and move on with his life. Eve somehow annoyed the shit out of me. Everyone and everything else that happened in this book was just MEH. I don't care. I didn't care. I just want to move on with my life.

It has been a few months since the Draug have been eradicated and everything on the surface seems to be getting back to normal in Morganville. However, with their enemies gone, the vampires are not willing to compromise and are back to hunting and holding humans in contempt. This is causing the humans to take up arms and defend their rights against vampires or anyone who has been allied to them. This causes a problem for the Glass House as Claire has always been connected to both sides and Michael and Eve are married causing hate on both sides. To make matters worse a TV ghost hunting show has decided to film in Morganville which could mean the fighting between the humans and vampires could end up on the national news.

Bitter Blood is the 13th book in the Morganville but it is also one of my least favourite. Not much happens during the first two thirds and then everything is rushed through the last third.

I did not like the group in this book they seemed very selfish and self-involved in this book compared to the others in this series.

SpoilerOne example is that the group caused Miranda to try to kill herself and they thought she did die and they only grieved for an evening and then did not think about it or feel guilty at all.

Even though this was not my favourite Morganville novel I did still enjoy it, but was just a bit disappointed as I know that Caine can do better. I will definitely be reading the next book but I just hope it is more like the other books. I would recommend this to people who have read the other Morganville books.

[reread] I was kinda dreading the
miranda and ghost hunters stuff
and it defo wasn't my faaave at the beginning but in the end I didn't mind it. and I loved all the other stuff going on for the most part

the myrnin content was lacking but what we did get was so good

I'm kinda committed to rating every book in this series five stars at this point bc I enjoy them so much but this was the first book where giving it five stars didn't feel fully accurate idk like with a couple of prev books, like kiss of death, I've had complaints but not to the point where I thought the five stars was too much despite the fact I think if I were rating and reviewing these books on more of an analytical(?) basis books like kiss of death wouldn't get five stars. but with this one I'm a bit like hm idk

I think next time I reread this series I'll probs rate them a bit differently but for now it's a five star sweep bc I do love them a lot (and tbh I can't imagine any books will get less than four stars and most will still get a five so like. anyways)

What can I say about Bitter Blood other than it was another amazing addition to the Morganville Series. Just when I begin to wonder where else the storyline of this series can go, I'm shocked by all the twists and turns and am always left wanting to read more. I'm so ready for the next book to see what kind of trouble these character stir up next.

I love this series. I have said this so many times, but I love this series, you guys. I love it.

And I know that it’s going to have to end at some point, and that it’s probably, or should be, getting close to that point, but I still just never want it to end. I love every (well, most?) book(s), and I always want more, and I’m always pleasantly surprised when a new book comes out and it’s just as good as the last one. A huge part of me never wants this series to end, but another part knows that the series is getting bigger in number and it should be happening soon. I’ll probably accept the ending rather well, but want to cry because it’s over.

This book was so good. After the draug plot line in the last book, and Amelie’s almost dying, this one has a bit of politics, because the town needs a new mayor. Hannah Moses, the previous mayor, has gotten kicked out of office, and they need someone else for it. Claire ends up campaigning a rather surprising candidate, with a not-so-surprising rival. But while all this is going on, Amelie is kind of starting to change the rules into a dictatorship against the humans, and there’s something wrong with Amelie, but no one knows what.

The whole vampire/human rivalry is just plain frustrating, and Amelie’s change didn’t really take me by surprise, it more exasperated me, because things like that have happened before. Although the reasoning behind it was a bit of a surprise, and the person behind it all was a tiny bit of a surprise, if only for the fact that I never really paid all that much attention to the character. I loved the resolution for it, though, what Amelie decided to do with the town and to each person involved. Particularly, I loved Claire’s taking a stand. I always love it when Claire sticks up for herself, and sometimes she needs to do it more often, and it always excites me when she does it. She did it to Oliver at one point, along with the bit near the end with Amelie. It was fantastic, I really didn’t see it coming as I didn’t think it would actually happen unless the series was ending or something, but I am super excited for the next book now (as I always am, really).

Some interesting things happened between Eve and Michael, and I'm interested to see what is going to happen with their relationship now, and it was definitely nice to see Michael stick up for their relationship after everything had happened. I'm hoping that maybe Amelie won't be as harsh to them anymore, seeing as what the new rules of the town are. I'm also intrigued by what Amelie did to Oliver, which is a bit sad, but I very much respect and like her decision to keep it all fair.

There was also a fight between Claire and Shane in this book, and it was so good, even if it was a bit illogical. Shane just needs to trust Claire more; I understand why he has a hard time trusting people, but after a certain point, you need to get over that with certain people, and Claire is one of those people. I have a tiny bit of a hard time believing that Shane would buy into what was happening so easily, although he does tend to act very much like a dramaqueen sometimes, but I also am upset that Claire didn’t get mad at him. And it didn’t make sense to me, there wasn’t much continuity with how at first she said sorry and that she’s broken his heart, and yet she told him later that he hurt her and needed to trust her. I think there just wasn’t enough of a change shown to how she was upset and then she was angry, there was a tiny bit where she got frustrated with him, but I don’t think there was enough.

My favorite parts of all these books is when Claire and Shane are together, whether they’re serious or fighting or making out. It’s the best thing, and I love them both so much, whether together or not (presence wise, not relationship wise; they have to be together relationship wise, or I would not be okay).

I had a bit of a hard time in the last book, and maybe the one before it?, with all the point of view changes, if only because I didn’t enjoy all the other characters as much as Claire, but that was much better in this book. A majority of the book was in Claire’s point of view, which was nice, and there were only a couple of other changes, in order to get in Oliver/Amelie/Michael/Myrnin/Shane’s head, and only when it was necessary to see what was happening with them, which I mostly liked. My favorite point of view is always Claire’s, but I also really enjoy Shane’s, and Myrnin was very fun to be inside the head of as well.

The next book is going to be so good, and I am so excited for it. There’s going to be a rather big change, and I’m looking forward to seeing what Claire is doing and what Shane is doing with her, and to make it all up to her, and I’m hoping to see Claire and Shane visit her parents, and maybe seeing Myrnin calling her often (because he's going to miss her, right?). As well as the troubles that Claire is going to get into. I’m just super excited, and it cannot get here quick enough.
