Four girls close their eyes. Only one wakes up.
Leah and she are having a sleepover after a fun evening they go to sleep, but the next morning, when Leah wakes, she sees three empty sleeping bags. The other girls are gone.
Twenty years later, a documentary is being made about the night Leah’s  friends disappeared, but someone  knows what happened the night of the sleepover. Will she find out what happened to her  friends ?

I had a great time reading this it was a gripping thriller that kept me guessing till the end. I listened to the audio for this, and it was easy to listen to and follow the story.

Thank you to Netgalley, Bookouture, and Kerry Wilkinson for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed "The Night of the Sleepover". The first half of the book sets the scene and can be a bit slow, but the second half takes you through twists and red herrings, slowly revealing what actually happened the night of the sleepover.

The author did an excellent job with the main character Leah- she was well written and her emotions were clear. While I understand the desire for a side story and how it further develops our MC and her motives/emotions/past, I found myself wanting to skip through it, to continue the “main” story. But, I’m not sure if that’s just me being impatient and wanting answers.

To be honest, I don’t think I will read the sequel- I like where the story ended, even if there are some loose ends to wrap up.

I fully recommend for fans of mystery and thrillers! With a release date of Oct 23, this would be a great spooky Halloween read

I received an audio arc copy of this book and this is my honest review.

The audio is done very well. I always knew who was speaking. I was immersed into the story. The narrator did a phenomenal job.

This is a very enjoyable mystery thriller.

It has a few twists.
One I did not see coming... and was shocked!
the last one I speculated about but was not sure until the reveal.

The characters were super interesting.
I am super curious to see what develops with Mandy.
I really hope she keeps herself safe.

If everyone discovers the truth I cannot wait see how they react.

There is going to be a sequel, but this does not end on a cliff hanger.

I really do not want to give away anything so this is one of my shorter reviews.

So excited that this is the first book and there is a second book (After the Sleepover) coming out later this year. I expected part of the ending of this book but the other part completely surprised me and I can't wait to see how this plays out. I liked the alternating timelines, learning little tidbits about the original sleepover night, while learning the real-time clues was fun.

Olivia Darnley did a great job narrating this novel and I hope Olivia narrates the second novel as well.

🎧 This is the first instalment of a 2 book series. Interesting blurb. It was really slow paced for me an a little repetitive throughout. It did get interesting for the last 20% but it’s a little too late at that stage. It lacked action and excitement throughout and wasn’t eventful at all and that’s what keeps me engaged. I can’t say I overly cared for any of the characters, I just didn’t feel I got to know them. I am intrigued for the next instalment.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture Audio for the opportunity to listen to and review #TheNightOFTheSleepover

Leah wakes up after a sleepover to find the other beds… empty. Where are her three friends? What happened to them, and why is Leah the only one still here? Nearly twenty-five years after THE sleepover, a new documentary is in the making and Leah is not sure what to think about that. Just to add to the anniversary coming, Leah is receiving blackmail from someone who seems to know the truth…

It’s the first book I’m reading from Wilkinson, and I have to say I am positively surprised! It was well written and, unlike with other thrillers, I didn’t hate the characters!! I mean, it’s a thriller like the others, and I mean by that that there’s the stereotypical things the protagonist is hiding, and someone else knowing while blackmailing them. But even if that part was predictable, it didn’t stopped it being enjoyable to read and I couldn’t wait to turn the page, to read the other line, the other paragraph, the other chapter.
I’m so happy to know that this book will have a sequel, I cannot wait!!!

<SPOILER>Now, I hated the end. The two last chapters to be exact. I will just gaslight me to think it never happened hihihi, I liked the protagonist way too much.

I like the concept and ending, but the pacing was too slow for my taste.

The book was relatively uneventful until the final 15%. I feel the story could have been more engaging if it had contained more action and excitement throughout the book, rather than saving it all for the very end. Overall, it was an okay read.

*** Thank you to NetGalley, Kerry Wilkinson, and Bookouture for graciously sending me the audiobook to review. As always, all thoughts are my own.***

Leah and her 3 best friends have a typical girl’s night sleepover - complete with gossip, pizza, and vodka. But when Leah awakens the next morning, her friends are gone.

Fast forward 20 years and the girls’ disappearance still remains a mystery, which is why Owen, the brother of one of the missing girls, returns to town to film a documentary hoping to stir up some answers.

But someone doesn’t want the truth to be found out.

This one threw me for a LOOP!! I can’t imagine what content will be in the sequel, but I look forward to reading it! Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
