A personal all time for me, I’ve read Watchmen several times, and every time I find something new to enjoy or a detail to sink into.

This book has sold me on graphic novels.

ok that was epic! i loved it!!! so much going on! at times you were reading 3 or 4 stories at the exact same time in the exact same panels. imagine if a non-graphic novel had that format and every other line was following a different story. or if a movie had subtitles that were telling a whole other subplot. that, couples w the fact that it is often told thru flashbacks/memories or found documents made it tricky to follow at first but i eventually got the hang of it. I love anxious pre-apocalypse/between apocalypse stories. there was a feeling of being overwhelmed by so many things happening all at once, because of the headlines or the ads in the background of each picture and the fact that everyone is anxious not only about their own lives and their pasts but the larger global picture. it's how everyone feels right now because of the internet, so i wonder how the recent adaptation includes this (i think i heard the new hbo series is based in current times and not the 80s? not sure tho). I read this today and yesterday and watched v for vendetta for the first time last night, so i've been lost in the alan moore sauce. this was great and i get why it has been such an enduring classic. Also, the perfume ads say "ghost of you" which is my favorite mcr song, so that was a nice treat to have stuck in my head for the duration of reading.

The first half was tremendous, but it all went a bit downhill after that. Adding one extra star for Rorschach, taking it back for Jon (god he was annoying).
It’s still about 3.8 stars and I think I’ll enjoy it more when I reread it at some point and some parts of the story won’t be as confusing as they are now %)
