hard to explain, but it's a masterpiece. The dialogue is amazing and Doctor Manhattan's chapter is one of my all time favorites.
The heavy grief and trauma really gets to you.

For the love of god, before reading look at the damn content warnings!!

Rightly called one of the best comics ever.
It gave interesting views on societys perception of the cold war and a superheros role in politics. Overall a very good stand-alone comic book.

Finally got around to reading the incredible graphic novel Watchmen by Alan Moore. First off, I want to also give credit to the Illustrator/letterer, Dave Gibbons and the colorist John Higgins for their incredible ability to bring these story graphics to life. This story was published in 1986, so it does have some dated language, but if you can get past that, this is a great story overall. I found a lot of influence that was pulled from this in other content I’ve been consuming, most notably “The Boys” on Amazon Prime. I think the concepts here are interesting, and it takes a really scary time in American history, and explains the feelings of fear and uncertainty. I loved the characters, and while I think more could have been done with the female characters, I’ll let it slide knowing the historical context of women in comics. If you’re looking for a complete graphic novel that deals with superhero’s, violence, war, mortality, morality, death, and trauma, this is a great read for you. It’s the first graphic novel I’ve competed cover and I honestly liked it a lot more than I anticipated. This makes you question what is and isn’t moral, and I think literature that pushes us to think about such uncomfortable topics is extremely important to read. If you’re looking to jump into the comic/graphic novel world, I would definitely recommend Watchmen.
