I admit, the beautiful cover of this book is what made me pick this book off the shelf and I am so glad I did! Not only is this book beautiful, but it maintains a dark atmosphere that keeps you interested in what happens to the little jaybird. Some might be frustrated that it leaves you with more questions than answers but I personally love books that make you think about what happens rather than doing all of the thinking for you. I definitely recommend this book. And if you think that because this book is mostly told through pictures that it must be for children, you would be wrong. And I would caution parents to read the book first before handing this to a child. Each child might react differently to the events in this book.
Otherwise, pick this book up!

Beautiful colors and very little dialogue make this book an truly unsettling story. In the same vein as Beautiful Darkness, but not as strong (also significantly shorter, so there's that).

Very nice atmospheric artwork, but the plot is primitive and could have been covered in half the amount of pages. No subtlety or room for interpretation. Overall, a big 'meh'.

OY! I loved the artwork, but man, the story threw me. I had to look up an explanation and came across this enlightening review...

I am confused about this book, did I like it? Did I dislike it? I am not sure. I am a big fan of graphic novells and its a pretty little story, but I thought it to be more, I wanted more of the story.

But Im that kind of person, I don't like loose ends.

Its pretty tho!

Very dark and sad, but incredibly well-done.
