1963 National Book Award. Wasn't looking forward to it, what with it being about a Catholic priest, which doesn't scream "intriguing fiction" to me, but I was surprised to find it funny and entertaining. I was disappointed in the end though. I got what he was going for, but it felt anticlimactic and not fleshed out enough.
