This book had me on my toes from start to finish. I couldn’t have predicted the way it ended but reading it was beautiful in a devastating kind of way!

I have so many things to say about this book but so few words to put down. The first part we are introduced to Thora and Santi. The second part we realize there is a puzzle. In the third part we find a resolution. The last chapter absolutely shattered me because you develop such a love for Thora and Santi. You KNOW them by book’s end. This story was so beautifully woven and told. I genuinely felt like they were real people as the final words were uttered. The narrator was fantastic with accents and genders, which can sometimes be difficult to find in an audiobook. I really loved this book!

I requested this book in a whim after seeing Liberty Hardy raving about it on Twitter, and I’m so happy I did because I loved it. It’s got magic and mystery, romance and angst, and yet it defies categorization. I find that some of my favorite books are a mishmash of elements from various genres, and this one is no exception. I don’t want to say too much because the mystery of what the hell is going on is so much of the fun of this book, but basically two people keep meeting in life after life — always in different roles — and slowly start to realize that they’re the only ones aware that they’re repeating their lives. They alternate between working to figure out why, and just living with the mystery. It’s really a fun, sad, profound, cool ride, and I highly recommend it. Oh and it’s casually queer, which I also loved. Thanks to William Morrow for sending me an advanced copy! It’s out April 27.
