This was actually my favorite story of this series until now.
I really liked James Herondale and how he finds his future friends. It was also the first book of this series where i didn´t think it was annoying, that Simon wasn´t in focus even if this is claimed be a companion showing Simos development after COHF.
I look forward to reading the next stories.

This was a story about how James Herondale and Matthew Fairchild became parabatai. I did not expect this to hit me in the feels. Initially I had no idea that Cassandra Clare had already set up so much backstory on these character in The Last Hours trilogy, and I wanted to feel more prepared when I read the final installment, Chain of Thorns.

🚨Spoiler Alert 🚨 I think this is my favorite story so far! I love hearing about the Fairchild’s, Henry, and Charlotte, hearing about Sophie being a Shadowhunter now. I think their underrated characters and should be part of the story more. The story about James got to me, I cried. I am happy he got friends in the end and got a parabati too. I feel sad for Geogre too who wouldn’t want Simon as a parabati but we all know who his parabati should be. Great story, very well written...... Simon 2.0 Ribit Ribit 🤣😂

It's fun reading more about James Herondale. AAHHHH, Herondales... Also that last part about Simon asking Clary.... I CAN'T WAIT.
