Anche per questo libro sono partita timorosa ma, ovviamente, mi sono ricreduta. Parte con una dolcezza incredibile e passa attraverso i dolori degli abitanti della casa dei sogni e i loro amici. I nuovi personaggi mi sono piaciuti davvero tanto, soprattutto Leslie e il capitano Jim.

"Anna, che contava i giorni come grani d'argento di un rosario, non riusciva più a fare lunghe passeggiate per andare al faro o su a Glen..." non hanno mai esplicitamente detto che Anna era incinta ma l'autrice l'ha fatto capire da frasi come questa. Sapevo che uno dei figli di Anna sarebbe morto (da brava idiota l'ho cercato su intenet) ma non mi aspettavo che la piccola Joyce sarebbe morta dopo neanche un giorno e ci sono rimasta davvero malissimo. Ok ho anche pianto un po'. Per fortuna è arrivato James Matthew a risollevare gli animi con i nomi dei "due migliori gentiluomini che abbia mai conosciuto".

Ammetto che un po' odio l'autrice perchè sta uccidendo un sacco di persone, non penso di essermi ancora ripresa dalla morte della zia Josephine e dopo il capitano Jim la Montgomery si merita un po' del mio risentimento.

My girls and I have been reading through all the Anne books. While this one still brought all the same feeling and heart pulls that you get from Anne's earlier life, it was much heavier. Still, joyful and silly at times, but dives into the very real matters of life as an adult.
