[5 Stars🤩] An incredible ending to The Edens series by Devney Perry! I am still in shock that I got to be one of the lucky people to receive an ARC of Sable Peak so I could share my honest thoughts. I hope by now that you think that I’m an honest and fair reviewer, so when I say that this is my new favorite book in The Edens series and that I gave Sable Peak a million out of 5 stars, you should know that Mateo, Vera (and Allie) have my entire heart. Sable Peak was everything I ever could have hoped for, and I can’t wait for you to experience this love story.

While I think that Sable Peak is best read after the rest of The Edens series, go ahead and add this book to your TBR if you love:

✈️Single dad
🍑Unrequited love
⛰️Small town
✨Romantic suspense
✈️Slow burn
🍑Fantastic characters with emotional depth
⛰️Book boyfriends
✨Self-discovery and personal growth
✈️Family dynamics and relationships

If Quincy, Montana, was a real place, I would move there in the blink of an eye. Get ready for the final chapter in The Edens series, my friends, because you will love this just as much as I do!

Clear and a million 🥹
Matera (Mateo+Vera) Forever ❤️

***A HUGE thank you to Devney Perry and Valentine PR for the ARC of Sable Peak! All thoughts in this review are my own.***

If we all got together and put our money into a pile, could we convince Devney to keep writing this series?

What are we supposed to do? Move on?? I think not. Turn it into a soap, bring along lost cousin out of no where to keep it going, I beg.

Ugh I am so so so sad that this series is over. After Crimson River I was worried that the Edens would go out with a fizzle, so I'm glad we ended on a really good note with Sable Peak!

I hesitate to refer to this book as "Mateo's Story" because it didn't really feel like his at all. It was Vera's story and although I enjoyed her story, it felt like Mateo was an after thought in his own book. The first 11 chapters were completely devoid of any insight into our hero except what Vera decided to tell us. No matter how observant she is, no amount of inner monologue from Vera can replace chapters from Mateo's POV. And those chapters would have been so valuable! I mean we don't see any part of his trip to Alaska to bring Allie home or their first days or even months together which I think did his character a major disservice. It would have been so beneficial to see how he handled that adversity and would also have highlighted his thoughts (or lack thereof) about Vera, but instead we skip forward two years to see him emerge as a fully baked single dad ready to help Vera process her trauma. It just came off as though the author was too lazy to write that part of the story.

All of that aside, I loved this book. I thought Vera's character motives were very clear and the flight lessons were a great way to incorporate forced proximity! Her struggles and eventual breakdown were so real and heartbreaking. She was such a fabulous character! Allie was an absolute joy to read and I am so glad that Devney was able to bring it home with, yet again, another couple who manages to navigate conflict without breaking up! The Edens have conflict management down to a science!!

Overall, I think that this will go down as one of my favorite romance series. I wish Quincy, Montana was a real place because if it was I would move there in a hot second. It is the sweetest series with the coziest vibes and I really hope that there is a next-gen series in the future!!
