I read this because I was interested in watching the Netflix series. (Which I may not even watch now)

I didn’t really care for the point of view this was written in. I believe it was third person omniscient, but we mainly only followed one character. I didn’t feel like we got to know the characters beyond being terminally I’ll. I didn’t care for the made up stories. I found them too long and boring. I also read a couple reviews were they said this writing was mature for the age group it’s written for. I disagree, using cuss words and mentioning sex doesn’t equal mature writing. It’s just makes the content mature.

The religious theme of the text may be a bit off-putting to some readers, but there is still a beautiful message about unconditional love and community.
