Nice, short but still somewhat boring in some parts.
Good plot twist at the end.

Hercule Poirot’s Christmas has very little to do with Christmas but was a satisfying mystery. Christie set it up perfectly that you suspect everyone of murder and lays out so many clues along the way that seem meaningless when first mentioned.

I initially had a difficult time keeping the characters straight. There were so many people introduced and not enough details to distinguish them. Eventually, the characters’ personalities emerged. Poirot was pretty subdued in the story and I wanted him to have a stronger voice/role.

I enjoyed the observations the characters had of each other...simple things that revealed a lot about the observer and observee. Some of the conversations between spouses were not authentic...they introduced the reader to their backstory but the spouse would already know the backstory.

I admit I had no idea who the killer was and would never have guessed but was disappointed in who it was. An easy, fun read.
