I absolutely love Top Chef and I love Padma. This book was alright. Some of it was good, some of it was annoying-learned some stuff, some of it was boring.

Even though I didn’t agree with a lot of the ways that Lakshmi narrativized her life (mainly I felt that the men were let off far too easily), this was a really enjoyable book with a lot of amazing food (and recipes!).

This was just meh for me. It felt like a lot of blabbing about things that weren’t necessarily of the highest importance.

Biggest thing I learned about Padma is she likes (way) older men!

I've always loved Padma her composed, poised and elegant manner, this book definitely reinforced my sentiments. This memoir was well written and I particularly loved the notes on her Indian upbringing it was a sensory delight to be introduced to the many wonderful culinary spices and family kitchen traditions and the many cooks that influenced her. You can really see how her Indian family and heritage introduced her to her lifelong love of cooking which is a reoccurring theme throughout this book. I love how she exposed private parts of her life but with a sense of respect and restraint. This book delivered everything I wanted it to and abit more..
