Good but not amazing! I thought the plot was a little slow and all of the action was in the very last part of the book. This author has structured other books in this series similarly and it’s just not my favorite plot structure!

2020:i read this in a day, that tells you how much i love this series

---------------------------------------------------

2017:The dead should stay dead (except Jace, because he's my little bean). But nobody wants the bloody bastard that is Sebastian/Jonathan coming back to life and screwing around and annoying everyone. Jace deserves much better than what he is getting. Clary and Jace deserve to be happy together.

Pfff... previous book I thought was the best so far, this was the worst

What was this? Why was this?
Can someone please tell me the next books are worth reading and it will get better again?

Loved it! Great ending.

I love how Cassandra Clare writes, the dialogue is perfect and the scenes begin and end like a movie.

Based on friends' reviews, I expected to dislike this book but I really enjoyed it. The ending is a big shock but I'm ever hopeful we'll come back from this.

While several exciting things happen in this book it had the feel of mostly being a set up for the next book. You also spend almost more time with Simon than Clary or Jace. Anxious to see what all this set up leads to.
