Personally, I think reading Firekeepe's Daughter first would enhance your reading experience of Warrior Girl Unearthed - I've seen mixed reviews on whether this can/could be read as a standalone.
Perry Firekeeper-Birch anticipated a carefree summer, but after an accident that wasn’t her fault, she must work to repay her Auntie Daunis for Jeep repairs. With her fellow outcasts from Team Misfit Toys and her twin sister, Pauline, they tackle obstacle courses and organize community vigils. Everything changes when Perry learns about the “Warrior Girl,” an ancestor whose remains are held at a local university. Determined to return her to the tribe, Perry investigates NAGPRA, discovering the university's exploitation of legal loopholes to retain the remains of Warrior Girl and others. As the story goes on, Perry & her peers must confront deeper secrets to make things right for their ancestors and community.
If this sounds good to you based on the summary above, pick it up - I think the  synopsis gives too much away. I would say it's not as good as Firekeeper's Daughter, but this is still a great book. Plus, Isabella Star LaBlanc narrates again, which is *chef's kiss* SO GOOD.

This was such a wonderful read.

My favorite part of this experience was going through life and learning with Perry.

The plot towards the end lost me a bit but not enough to take away from the book overall.

(Will finish this once I look at my notes)
