This is probably my favorite of the series thus far, from the stakes, to the addition of Athrias (sp? I listened to the audio version...), to the slightly allegorical/metaphorical/whatever-ical nature of the story, to finally addressing the issue of a certain type of problematic magic some of the characters have been using. Solid story, favorite characters, and some amazing action! Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go find my Tormy for some kitty snuggles!

An incredible end to the series! The addition of Athreus makes things really interesting. The night dwellers are threatening to take over due to the dawn child being imprisoned. Kier makes more and more sense, and Dev, Omen and Templar have to make a hard decision. I hope there is another book!

Four stars because I love Tormy and Tyrin. This is Book 6 in a fun series that is more potential than actual written brilliance. The series feels at times like it could use one more round with just the right editor for a finer polish with a tighter warp and weft to the threads of the tale. That being said, I will absolutely read everything new as it comes out and plan to go back to read the novellas that fit in between the main storyline. The adventure is thrilling, the theory of magic is complex, the world is full and complete. The forces of good triumph over evil as is expected, but the means and methods are varied and (mostly) unpredictable. If I haven't talked you into listening yet, do it for the talking cats!!!
