《I want to die but i want to eat tteokpokki》
5/5
♡This legit felt like someone transcribed my inner monologue, so incredibly relatable, i recognised myself throughout the writing.
♡The first half put into words and detangled so much of the mess in my head.
♡The second half was just pure, raw, and organic advice, which didn't feel self-righteous or imposing, but sincere and because of it applicable.

☆i never reread but i want to restart this rn!

Though this book had a lot of relatable things . Maybe it was too many relatable things. I went into this book blind and had no idea what would be going on.

A book that’s very different from what I usually read and I’m not sure if I enjoyed it so to speak, I think I more found it really interesting and comforting in a way to read. Just a very honest depiction of one person’s experience with mental health struggles and going to a therapist for help first time.

tteokpokki keeping people alive IKTR!
This was such an interesting and sometimes-frightening and also enlightening read into someone’s mind and their attempt to convince themselves that living is worth it even though her mind constantly fought against that idea.

this is definitely less of a story and more of a collection of transcripts and short essays, but the feelings still hit for me. do not expect resolution or an optimistic end, but instead just an honest look at Baek Sehee’s mental health.

the writing style was very easy to get thru, so much so that sometimes i let my mind drift but that’s just me. i had to slow down to really take in all that was being talked about. some of the issues the author presented to her therapist r similar to thought cycles that i have. so her goal in writing this i think really worked, cause even if i wasn’t exactly like her i could still see myself in her and read what the therapist would say and gain a new perspective at the very least. good read overall!
