For the most part, this was a decent read. The plot was interesting and I liked most of the characters. That being said, I think I would have enjoyed this book more if I was in my teens.

QUEDARSE. CALLADA. JAMÁS.
“You’re just a walking organ donor. So take my advice, Claire. Don’t get in my face, because if you do, you won’t have one for long. Are we clear?”
Claire nodded slowly. “We’re clear,” she said. “You’re kind of a psycho. I get that.”
“I might be,” Monica agreed, and gave her a slow, strange smile. “You’re one smart little freak. Now run away, smart little freak, before I change my mind and stick you in one of these old suitcases for some architect to find a hundred years from now.”
Claire blinked. “Archaeologist.”
Monica’s eyes turned winter cold. “Oh, you’d better start running away now.”

Spoiler: no mejora jamás.

I love it! Vampires are taken closer to their roots, being evil, but not too bad. Some walk the line between completely evil and just slightly evil. The humans are afraid, but brave enough to stick up for each other and won't back down. They stand their ground even though they face an entire town of vampires and vampire-controlled humans.

For me, this book was almost too painful for words. lol

Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure this is a great book... I just cannot read books that are quite obviously YOUNG ADULT. I love young adult novels, but when they just reek of immaturity... I draw the line. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be continuing with this series.

I just love this book. This is the 4th time reading it and I can't get over how much I love this series. It's made me want to start Dead Girl's Dance now, but I'm sleepy

I started this series because I follow Amber Benson's Instagram and Twitter accounts, and saw on them that she is going to be in the show based on these books. The next reason is that I read the first book in [a:Rachel Caine|15292|Rachel Caine|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1373144795p2/15292.jpg]'s Weather Wardens series and liked it, so I thought I would probably like this series, too, since I already like her writing.

This book ends on a huge cliffhanger, so I must read/listen on. It's not the best supernatural YA out there. For a smart 16-year-old, Claire is pretty darn stupid. I'm giving her a pass for now, thinking the heady feeling of having friends has effected her reason a lot more than I think it should but still. Also, why the hell do all of these normals in vampire town not GTFO?! Just saying. I still will continue the series, though. Glutton for punishment like that, I am. I mean, I did watch the entire series of HIMYM, so no surprises there.

Pretty alright. The vampires are somehow both stereotypical and new/unique!

Holy crap!!!!! This book is fangtastic! (pun intended ^^) After hearing so many positive reviews of this book and the series as a whole, I knew I had to read Glass Houses. Boy, good thing too! I love the idea of the vampires acting as a sort of mob, running the town as they do. It's such a fresh take on vampirism.

This book is so quick and fast paced, you don't miss a second of the action. You ride the emotional roller coaster with the protagonist, loving every minute. You go on this crazy ride, not wanting for a second to stop reading. I felt so sad after reading and almost bought the second book right after.

Claire was a great character. She goes from weak to strong in such a great way. You love following her as a protagonist. But the characters that really stood out to me were her roommates Eve, Michael and Shane. I loved their dynamic as a group, even more when Claire came into the mix. They were just so great, and I wish that they were real so I could live with them. They felt like a makeshift family, loving and hating each other like family do. Monica scared the living sh()t out of me. Holy crap, I almost had an accident every time she was around. She is possibly the scariest character I've ever read. And after Warner from Shatter Me, that's saying something. *shivers*

I so can't wait to read the second book.
