I kind of get the moral dilemma... but as a woman with a step brother... This concept just feels not right for me, probably someone else out there this book fits better for, but its not for me at all.

This book is heartbreakingly beautiful!!

Written in a way that takes you on an almost magical journey but one with some supreme ups and downs.

We are taken down a pathway to the past and then slowly skipping forward 5 years at a time. It's surprising just how much things can change in one way whilst other things stay exactly the same as if no time has gone by.

The ending left me not knowing how to react, lets just say it isn't your typical happily ever after but it is an ending that certainly has all of the feels.

This is a tale of friendships, relationships and all of life's moments. Five Years From Now is a novel filled to the brim with love and it's a story just begging to be read.

Although enjoyable, I don’t think it was for me. I’m a bit strange and like to finish for the evening at the end of a chapter, I found the chapters just too long for bedtime reading (or maybe I nod off too easily). I think because I kept stopping mid chapter, I got a bit lost and the story felt disjointed. I won’t give up on Paige Toon yet though.

A slow start but I thoroughly enjoyed this easy read. It played with my emotions and connected with me in many ways. I guess it is "chick lit" but it is also so much more than that.

After recently binging three of her books, Paige Toon is now my favorite British romance author! Her books are emotional, heart warming and impossible to put down! This is a best friends to lovers story all about timing and fate. It follows Nell and Van who first meet at age five and are inseparable. However, after a tragic incident, at age ten, their lives are pulled in opposite directions. Since that moment life brings them back together every five years, and with each different phase of life, all the way up to adulthood, their chemistry and love only deepens. This was on track to be a five star read until the ending. Not that it was bad (at all) but I was just hoping for a different path. Still worth the read!!

Read if you like:
-British romances
-Stories about timing and fate
-Best friends to lovers stories
-We’ll described, beautiful settings

Five Years From Now shares the story of Nell and Van’s friendship over time, each time jumping ahead five years, so we get to see so much of them, from when they were five right up to their forties. I loved this writing style, it felt as though I was growing up with them, it’s something like I hadn’t read before, so unique. It made me fall in love with the characters more than ever. We also get to visit two different but equally beautiful places, Cornwall and Australia. I love the way Paige always sets the scenes perfectly, that I can picture the settings just right even though I’ve never been there myself.

I’m still struggling how to put this book into words, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to properly. It broke me. By the end I was full on blubbering, had puffy eyes and full on sobbing. And I love Paige for that. This story sends that message that one day you’ll understand why that happened. And I definitely believe that everything happens for a reason. ❤️

This was my first Paige Toon book and it’ll be my last.

It’s a romance - they are supposed to end up together! And I just feel let down and annoyed. I feel like I wasted my time. I could have been reading a real romance!

Characters weren’t strong enough, plot not strong enough to take them not being together in the end.
