I really enjoyed this first installment of this series. I found slow to start off with, but the story soon got going. I found it hard to put the book down. The Sisters, in particular, worked so well together. There were some tough times during this book though. I liked the way that faith was woven throughout the book. I really enjoy a good Christian Fiction family saga, which I believe this is. I own this on my kindle. Looking forward to bk 2 in the series.

The Seeds of Change by Lauraine Snelling is the debut of Leah’s Garden series. I have read all of Lauraine Snelling’s novels and she never fails to disappoint. I thought The Seeds of Change was well-written with developed characters. I could tell Lauraine Snelling did her research. The author captured the time period with the dialogue, clothing, attitudes, conveyances, and so much more. I was transported back in time as the Nielson sisters traveled west looking for a new place to settle. This is an inspiring tale. We get to see what people can accomplish when they put their minds to it and rely on God. The Seeds of Change is a faith filled story. The Nielson sisters as well as the majority of the other characters are Christians who rely on God. They pray for guidance and want to make sure they are following God’s path for their lives. This is also a story about survival. It was not easy to survive in the west. This story has drama, faith, family, joy, sorrow, and romance. The Seeds of Change is an engrossing story that held my attention until the very end. I was sorry to turn the last page. I look forward to reading the next story in Leah’s Garden series. The Seeds of Change is an uplifting, engaging tale that lingered with me longer after I finished it.

Reminds me some of the feel of Little House books, just what I am needing at the moment.

No! I didn't want to finish this book but I couldn't stop reading! When will the next book come out? I cannot wait to read the stories of Lark (Clark), but know it must be the last in the series.
The Seeds of Change kept me anxiously anticipating the next obstacle for the four sisters,. However, their faith in God kept them confident that they were following His plan. This is a must read.

DNF'd at 40%. There are too many real-life scary scenarios triggering panic attacks. I used to love Lauraine Snelling but just can't read her anymore after developing anxiety.

I was really disappointed in this book. There was so much going on within the first two chapters, I felt like I had missed a book. I kept looking to make sure this was actually the first book in the series. It felt forced and super rushed.

The first couple of chapters were from one of the sisters, Lark's, perspective. Then it went to another sisters perspective. I never came to care for any of the characters.

Then halfway through a love interest is thrown in but it was so subtle that you didn't really care about that relationship either.

I had to force myself to finish. I kept hoping it would get better, but never did.
