Gosh, I really really wanted the series finale to be wonderful because I have loved every book up to this point, but alas, I was disappointed. Unfortunately, I think my expectations were much too high.

So the review is summative for this six book series. Wow! What a ride! I had my doubts in book two but Sullivan really ties it all together and made one the most memorable series I’ve read in a long time. This series will take you places to never expected to go and breaks from your standard fantasy reads in so many good ways.

I can’t recommend this series enough to any fan of fantasy or fiction!

I am a little bit disappointed... I enjoyed the first 3/4 of the book, but then too many of the events had very well known outcomes from "future" books, and there wasn't much there to grip my attention like the rest of the series did. The last chapter and a half, in particular, felt like a checklist of "things that happened in later books, so I better mention them now", and that was a particularly poor way to end an otherwise great series.
