I've been reading a lot of books about finance and investing, and this one came up as one I might also enjoy. And it was great! It covers, as the title suggests, a lot of finance stuff from saving to investing to paying off debt to questions about your first job etc etc. I wish I had read this when I was younger so I could be in a better place today.

I'm not sure what possessed me to add this book to my TBR, but once it was there, I didn't want to take it off. I've learned some finance things, but maybe not enough, and maybe it'll be a good book for my classroom library and/or to give my kids.
Coming clean: Anat taught me some things about money that I didn't know, either, and I am pleased about that. Her delivery is fairly current in lingo and usage, which will speak to a specific demographic, but not everyone. I won't give this book to my FIL, who taught econ in colleges for decades; he won't get it. But my teenaged son or my college-aged daughter? Yeah, they'll understand. I also appreciate the very real attention to emotions that Anat offers, right from chapter one with the money story all the way to the end, with recognition of how people might feel after reading the book all the way through. Her chapters on saving and investing were especially solid - loved it!

Some of the writing was kind of cringy, especially at the beginning, but it was entertaining to read and had some really helpful information.

I follow Berna on IG and she has an exciting personality that really shows through in the audiobook. A great book for a complete beginner like a student.
