¿Fue mejor que el de Baden? Si. ¿Fue mejor que el de París? NO.
Bue.

It was OK, just. I liked the answer to their problem. About the only thing I liked though.
75% in- Wow these two have no real chemistry. The sex is good but the connection is nonexistent. They are on totally different thought waves and plans. Then when they decide to help one another, they keep secrets and lies going. Cameo tells the truth but then doesn't say out loud the possibilities, no she keeps that to herself. I thought that the lack of chemistry of the last book was the interruptions of the side stories. That book had the multiple plot lines to the point of 1/2 the book being other people's stories. So far this has had very little side stories, just glimpses, which has been good. But the chemistry... well I don't feel it if it is built on lies and secrets, one little lie that matters but not multiple.
Right now it is a 2 to a 3 star. I hope that it ends well so it'll go up. Pretty much I've been bored. I think this is because I don't feel the chemistry and they are constantly talking about kissing, etc... with no chemistry, it drags.
83%- distracting with sex from questions, important just is stupid. To try to lie and keep secrets by "having sex" the sex ends up being horrid to me. Every touch is a lie, this is not sexy, it is a horrible relationship and that isn't even complaining about the inconstancy of this book with others.

I can't believe it has taken me this long to read this book. I'm normally right on top of this series, but I've found that I've fallen behind in both the books of the Lords of the Underworld as well as Immortals After Dark. I'm ashamed. I'm such a fangirl of Gena Showalter and Kresley Cole so it is crazy that I've let this happen.
Now, I've ordered Darkest Promise in hardcover when I saw that it was out because I have the hardcover for Darkest Warrior and I felt like it needed a companion format. I haven't looked yet to see if the HC contains all the extras that the ebook has. All those extras came in SO helpful.
There were moments in The Darkest Promise that I was a little confused, because I didn't remember events from previous books. Gena helps with that at the end of the story with an addition of a bullet point view of each book so far. That is where I kind of got caught up. I sort of wish that that addition had of been at the beginning at the book, but at least I have an idea of a timeline before going into The Darkest Warrior.
Due to my lack of memory on other character's storylines, I concentrated on our main couple. Lazarus had some great powers and I loved seeing the things he could do to his enemies. No, I'm not cruel and unusual, but his little garden fascinated me. It was interesting to see how little he knew about his condition. But I guess if he really understood it, there really wouldn't have been as much urgency in his relationship with Cameo. It was not hard to tell that the two were fated to be together since Misery did not affect Lazarus the way it did others. I think Cameo's surprise at that helped her to feel closer to him and moved their relationship along a little farther.
I wish I could remember what caused Cameo to lose her memory of her original time with Lazarus. I can't even recall which book contained their previous relationship, if it was even written. A reread may be in order for this series I think. I know I loved them, and friends I've recommended the series to have loved it too. It is just so hard for me to reread. I think that is why I liked that bullet point book refresh add-on.
The Darkest Promise seemed to focus heavily on Cameo and Lazarus's relationship. There didn't seem to be a lot of movement in the war between Lucifer and Hades. We get little glimpses like someone was injured in a fight or someone was in that realm fighting, but we didn't really get battle scenes.
I loved the Cameo that Lazarus revealed. She was funny and witty. I loved that she decided Viola was her BFF. That chick is hilarious. I know Viola's demon makes her say a lot of what she says, but I can't help but laugh at her. What I didn't realize was how her demon really affected her. How much hurt she endured because of the demon's actions. I also love her Tazmanian Devil. Cameo is truly a kick-ass heroine but when things get tough she doesn't hesitate to use her demon. Even if it means her demon takes control.
In the Darkest Promise, both Cameo and Lazarus are forced to fight not only the outside forces, but forces within themselves as well. They both need to be strong. There is a great scene where Lazarus helps Cameo fight her demon. I got a good laugh from it and how it brought everyone out. I have been in a bit of a reading slump, so the book seemed to go a little slow for me, but I still loved the characters. Both characters made me laugh and had some exciting adventures.
I'm excited to get to The Darkest Warrior and learn more about Puck. I don't remember a lot about him from previous appearances. I hope I can accept his relationship with Gilly.

I liked both Lazarus and Cameo, but I think my favourite character this time around was Viola (and Fluffy). Seeing beyond Narcissism's persona made her quite sympathetic, and I hope her story (with Brochan?) is coming soon. Side note: Rathbone and the stuffed cat were pretty funny too. Back to Lazarus and Cameo, I thought the secret beyond Lazarus' "sickness" was well done as was the battle with Juliette. Their chemistry was good, and it was quite sad when Cameo Quibble: I'm not too fond of the One True Deity concept; I'm going to try to let it go, but it did pull me out of the story a few times.

I am so glad that even do this is the 13th book in the series, Gena continues to dazzle is whit her stories. Most authors by now have lost their touch or their stories have completely change their way and is more plot with third characters, then actually the romance between the main characters. I am so glad, really and enjoy thing book so much. The characters, oh! Lazario... how cant you no love him? and Cameo... total badass with a heart of gold. Cant wait for the next one... Thanks Miss Gena!

As anyone will tell you, I’m a diehard Gena Showalter Fan. I’ve been reading the Lords of the Underworld series for nearly 10 years now so it’s safe to say that I’m pretty darn invested in the series. Cameo is the last Lord to get their happily ever after and I was really intrigued by the relationship between her and Lazarus. The thing is… I think their story may have been better in theory than it actually was in reality. The Darkest Promise just didn’t quite live up to the hype for me.
Here’s the thing… I was very fascinated by both Cameo and Lazarus as characters throughout the series. Cameo has always been part of the Lords family and her struggle with Misery made her an interesting character. I freaking LOVED Lazarus when we met him in The Darkest Surrender - which, by the way, is my favorite book in the Lords series – and I was so happy to finally see him in play once again. However, now that they are finally the stars of their own story, I wasn’t all that impressed with them. I was hoping for more of a spunky spirit in Cameo but I didn’t get that. She ended up being kind of boring. I mean… she’s the keeper of Misery so I wasn’t expecting her to be a bucket of laughs but I wanted to see her have a bit more personality outside of depression. Lazarus fell into the cliché trope of “I want you but love is a weakness so I just want to have sex with you and push you away instead” which isn’t really all that compelling as a plotline. As I was reading I was just getting kind of bored with their romance which absolutely sucks because of my undying love for this series! I was still happy to see them get a HEA but I just wasn’t as invested as I usually am.
My boredom made me far more fascinated in side characters and their plots. I was so interested with Viola. I always knew she had layers and I was engrossed in her story and how her future may play out. I ended up really rooting for Viola more than Cameo. Also, Urban’s adorable crush on Viola is everything! Also there are some exciting new developments in the “Gilliam” situation! I always had my suspicions that this development was going to come into play but I never wanted to actually say it out loud.
Maybe going into The Darkest Promise I was expecting too much and my expectations were too high. There were a lot of things I wish had been included or changed to make things a bit more interesting. For example: I just felt like there were missed opportunities here. I guess the real question is whether I still want to continue with the series. And the answer is a big resounding YES! Even with a misstep, I will always love this series and will always read anything involved with it.

I had a feeling that William and Gilly weren’t actually going to end up together. I felt like there was so much fan hype and it had been so heavily hinted at for so long that there just had to be a wrench about to be thrown in. In The Darkest Promise there is a quick mention of another woman being in William’s future if he makes a certain set of decisions. And shortly after Taliyah is mentioned as a woman woven in his future so I’m not sure if that’s a thing that will happen or a red herring.Maybe going into The Darkest Promise I was expecting too much and my expectations were too high.

My girl Cameo deserves a happy ending. Lazarus is perfect for her. We all know that they end up together in the end, but the ride was bumpy, and a lot of truth's came out that had me making faces.
Lazarus's background is incredibly fascinating. Love his interactions with the other characters. Absolutely HATED the nickname Cameo gave him though. At one point, no for 3/4 of the book I liked him more than Cam but it's okay that happens sometimes.
The twins, OMG I want to to grow up yesterday so we can see their stories. Doesn't even have to be a love story. They are young. Just give me an entire book about them in general.
The ending left me with a lot of questions. Which I'm sure Gina will answer in due time.
