Hotness

Wow!! This book definitely kept me up at 3 In the morning because I had to know what happened next. This book was a perfect mixture of romance, suspense, and hotness.

Taylor - she was a perfect female lead. Was she annoying at times? Yes, but it wasn't her fault. She was literally kept in the dark throughout the entire book. While I wanted her to give Case a chance , I completely understood where here hesitations came from. Taylor was also related and very strong.

Case - boy did Shantel break the mold with this one. He was all alpha male mixed with intensity. His character was very in your face and I loved it. The more we get to know him the more I fell for him. He may of been an alpha, but he had the heart of gold.

The story is unique and has a twist that I did not see coming (looking back it was always there). Taylor's older brother, Blane is the one that unintentionally introduced Taylor to Case. Taylor's and Blane's father got them in a situation that Blane felt he could handled. Case's and Taylor's chemistry was off the charts. I loved how they got to "know each other" before anything between them happened - I would say 30% into the book. Throughout the book, you start to realize that Case is hiding a secret. A secret that everyone knew except Taylor. I tried to guess what it was and was wrong on all accounts. I have to say, for the first time, the H's secret really was a big one. This book was sooo good and I enjoyed every minute of it. Shantel's writing skills is just too good for words.

I am an epilogue junkie. I always feel an epilogue can really hurt a book. With they being said, the epilogue could have been longer, but I think for the second time in my book history I will read the secondary's book. For one, there is still a big answer as to who wants to destroy Case and his crew. Also, Cade's BFF intrigued me enough to get to know his backstory. I do hope we get a novella of Case and Taylor down the road.

This author keeps my eyes pealed until the end! I loved this book. It’s my second by her, and it was really good.

I found Case and Taylor to be so realistic. Their story was so emotional. Between the lies, and real life and death situations, I spent the whole time holding my breath. I don’t want to give it away so I won’t say too much. She is definitely an author to read!

So good

Taylor is on a night out with her brother and his girlfriend when she spots a guy staring at her. As much as she wants to avert her gaze she can’t. Later she finds out he is the club owner Case and her brother is dealing drugs for him. All is not what it seems and everyone is lying to Taylor and even though she tells Case she hates him she can’t deny the connection she feels to him. I enjoyed reading this so much I’ve bought the paperback as well.

I liked the main idea of the book but the execution was lacking. Very poor editing... parts of the book were too slow, other parts (especially the more dramatic scenes) were over before you really had time to process what was happening. Certain parts of the book didn't make sense to me either, like Taylor judging him so hard for his 'lifestyle' but then when she finds out he is NOT who she thought and is actually a GOOD guy, she is hurt by his lies? I also really thought they were going to find out who cricket was and then maybe lead to clues about his sister. There may be answers to these questions in the sequel but I don't know that I want to read it. So... decent plot but the writing style is just not for me.

So when I read this; I had no idea it was going to be as dark as the Dare series. As I got into it, it lead up to a good sense of darkness. It brought light into Case’s life which I was so happy. It was crazy but they managed to live it out.

In the beginning, I wasn’t sure how I was going to like this book but, after a few chapters, I was hooked. This book has a lot of twists and turns but totally worth it. Case is the image of a total bad boy and Taylor is like the sweet, innocent girl next door buy, she’s a smart cookie. What a wild and crazy ride Addiction was! We are thrown into the world of drugs, lies, and scandal. Addiction is a hot and sexy suspenseful read that will have you guessing till the very end. Ugh I loved the build up of mystery and suspense this book surrounded me with and the betrayal, lies and the deceit were the cherry on top.
