I liked this book by the female MC annoyed me on so many occasions. Her indecisiveness really got on my nerves. I mean for somebody who had been in the lifestyle that long you'd think she'd know a good thing when she saw it.

Awful writing and characters. When she says the role was reversed because the doms provided aftercare - I am sorry but aftercare is a must and this was not even aftercare after a scene, this was guys being human after a traumatic event. Duh! Plus there is nothing hot in looking like the guy's dead wife. No matter how much you try to convince me he sees her as herself, and not his dead wife.

Spoilers below.

Do you have Spanish speaking family? This reads like novelas. Lord help us. There is SO MUCH drama! Which was kind of good so I made it like 3/4 of the way through this book but finally enough was enough. Let's go:

1. Girl talks to ghosts?

2. Guy talks to ghosts...

3. So much telling and not showing. Uggghhh.

4. TRIGGERING SEXUAL ASSAULT SCENE.

5. So after this girl gets assaulted by a stranger so seriously that she needs stitches, she goes home with and allows a stranger to spend the night in her bed.

6. Super awkward monologue where dude talks to his dead ghost wife lady about sending him his new lover. Uhh.

7. Lots of super awkward monologues.

8. A common theme throughout the book is people telling the main character
REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE
which I obviously had no choice but to hear in Mufasa's voice.

9. Dude gets shot and the main character tells him to die and go hang out with his dead ghost wife lady.

That's pretty much where I checked out. DNF.

So I read this book over 2 yrs ago but I never got around to reviewing it properly. Embracing My Submission is the first title in The Doms of Genesis series by Jenna Jacob. The first time I picked up this book I had no idea what to expect but I was so pleasantly surprised. The story of Emerald and Micha was captivating. It begins with Emerald trying to find her ONE. The Master who will make her feel complete. Little does she know he's been watching her for yrs. When Emerald is in danger however Micha must make his presence felt and they both find themselves having to make some life changing decisions. Without spoiling it for any new readers who have yet to read this mesmerizing story I'll say that this is by far one of my favorite series. It's incredibly sexy and profoundly enlightening. It gives a wonderful glimpse into the BDSM lifestyle while still providing a thrilling story line a moving romance. I found myself tearing up at several points in this book. What Micha and Emerald have is really just beautiful. This was definitely a 5 star book in a 5 star series.

Ok...seriously....I LOVED THIS STORY!!

Jenna Jacobs blew me away with this first book in her Doms of Genesis series!

I've read her work before in the Doms of her Life series that she is the co-author of, but I think I just fell in love all over again. I really adored the Doms of her Life series and when I saw that Jenna Jacob's Doms of Genesis series being promoted by Shayla Black on social networking sites, I immediately knew I had to read them! I have a special preference for books like that, where the starring couple is part of the BDSM club and getting to know their life there and the other people.

So....about Embracing My Submission....

Emerald, aka Julianna, is a little spitfire vixen. She's been in the lifestyle for a few years now but outside of her horrible introduction to the lifestyle with her ex-master, she hasn't been owned. She's participated in a few scenes when her mentor, Daddy Drake (LOVE HIM) allowed it, but never with men. Only with Mistress Sammie. So...needless to say, she's a bit pent-up and frustrated.

On the inside, Julianna is also having some issues. Every night she is visited in her dreams by a woman speaking to her about her 'one'...Julianna dubs him Sir Drool. Fitting name for a hot piece of ass that haunts your dreams! LOL

Any who....after Daddy Drake finally allows Sir Jordan some time to get to know Emerald, shit seriously hits the fan and who comes to the rescue??? Sir Drool himself! ZOMG!

Sir Drool, aka Mika, aka Genesis owner, aka the Great and Powerful Oz, has his own dreams and demons to deal with before he can even contemplate what he wants with Emerald.

These two were a scream to read about! Aside from the constant tears from Julianna,I really have no complaints.

There was so much humor and I just loved Julianna's attitude. I loved that even though she's been in the lifestyle for a little while now, she is still so unsure of herself. She isn't cocky and thinking she's all that. She's very real. I would think she would be a like a lot of people in the lifestyle in real life.

Anyway, great story! Can't wait to continue on!

Julianna is a submissive who is looking for a Dom. But one wrong decision makes her question whether or not she's cut out for that lifestyle and also brings her in contact with the one person that could be just who she's been looking for.

I spent half of the book feeling sorry for Julianna and the other part being annoyed with her. She spent four years being trained by her best friend to become the perfect submissive, but she was never presented to a Dom and it makes her feel as if she isn't good enough. You could sympathize with her, especially since she was feeling so down about herself. But then there were times when I wondered why Julianna didn't speak up sooner to her best friend and make her feelings known (since they shared so many intimate moments with each other).

I did enjoy the story, especially how Micah and Julianna worked their way towards establishing their relationship. They both had to deal with their personal emotional baggage before they could move forward with any type of relationship. They managed to work through their issues enough to start building a relationship they both craved.

I mean what did I really expect. This was a fast read, the setting was okay, but ultimately was not a good book at all
