I first read this in school but coming back to it I think it’s really accessible for casual reading too— it doesn’t feel too academic or overcomplicated. The dynamic of the love triangle is so timeless, but there are other ideas investigated besides the romance (artistic identity, judgement based on appearances, etc). The banter and humor are also surprisingly timely.
