I like the premise but the execution leaves much to desire. The story has a telling problem. There's no room for interpretation or suspense since everything is spelled out for readers.

"She turned back slowly, her own heart pounding as she looked on her angel at last." ✨
ANGEL'S MASK was a lovely Phantom retelling with a lot of great character development and some truly beautiful moments. (Also: very excited to see The Daroga featured—my favorite character!) ❤️
I'm really looking forward to the second book, ANGEL'S KISS, launching this summer.

As a lifelong Phantom phan, I loved this book. The characterizations of Erik and Christine were great and more layered than other versions I've read. There was a bit of suspension of disbelief with the sex scenes that made Christine seem a little too naïve. However, I flew through this book and cannot wait to read the sequel.

Really wanted to like this more. A lot of the plot feels a bit meandering and monotonous. I was interested when I could feel the plot moving forward, but then it would stutter to a halt again for a while. Rinse and repeat.

I did enjoy the new characters, as well as the characterization of Christine and Erik, as well as how they interacted with the characters around them. The authors writing shines with the characterizations.
